This Winter Solstice, the historic Black queer men’s writing collective Other Countries returns to its original home at The LGBT Community Center for an evening of poetry, performance, and celebration. The program will feature Other Countries member L. Philip Richardson as Master of Ceremonies, an open mic, and readings by collective members and guest artists including Steven G. Fullwood, Sur Rodney (Sur), Darryl DeAngelo Terrell, Malcolm Peacock, and Ryanaustin Dennis.

A sign-up sheet for open-mic participants will be available 30 minutes before the event begins, and those readings will be interwoven throughout the program.

Curated and organized by LaTefy Dolley (ICI Curatorial Seminar alum, New York 2025), with guidance and collaboration from Other Countries members Kevin McGruder, Robert E. Penn, and L. Philip Richardson.
This gathering celebrates Other Countries’ enduring legacy of creativity, remembrance, and kinship.
